Médecin généraliste - Centre médico-social de Kouaoua

About the role

The physician will ensure the continuity of care within the medical‑social centre of Kouaoua, reporting to the Deputy Director of Health, Social Affairs, Prevention and Solidarity. The position is essential for delivering both curative and preventive health services to the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide curative medicine: consultations, emergency care, and tribal visits.
• Deliver preventive health programs: school health, maternal‑infant health (PMI), tuberculosis screening, occupational and sports medicine, health education, and public hygiene.
• Handle administrative duties: manage personnel and material resources, prepare reports, and monitor health and social indicators.
• Develop external partnerships and manage the centre’s pharmacy.
• Participate in civil‑security training and support neighboring medical‑social centres when needed.
• Prepare an annual activity report and be available for on‑call duties (astreintes).

Required profile

• Medical degree with mastery of general practice and emergency care (CAMU preferred).
• Knowledge of public health; additional knowledge in gynecology‑obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology or infectiology is a plus.
• Valid category B driver’s licence.
• Experience in isolated posts, especially with Oceanian populations, is appreciated.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software: Microsoft Excel and Word.
