Physician (General Practitioner) – Houaïlou

About the role

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Health and Social Affairs and is responsible for ensuring continuity of care at the medico‑social centre in Houaïlou. It combines curative, preventive, administrative and public health duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide curative medicine: consultations, emergencies, tribal visits.
• Deliver preventive services: school health, maternal‑infant health, TB screening, occupational and sports medicine, health education, public hygiene.
• Manage administrative tasks: personnel and material resources, reporting, and health‑social monitoring.
• Establish external partnerships and manage the centre’s pharmacy.
• Participate in civil‑security training and support neighboring centres when needed.
• Prepare the annual activity report.

Required profile

• Qualified in general and emergency medicine (CAMU preferred).
• Knowledge of public health; additional knowledge in gynecology‑obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology or infectiology is a plus.
• Holder of a category B driving licence.
• Experience in isolated posts, preferably with Oceanian populations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software (Excel and Word).
