Nature-based Solutions Mainstreaming Advisor

About the role

The Pacific Community (SPC) seeks a senior advisor to mainstream Nature‑based Solutions (NbS) across its programmes and partnerships. The role will drive the integration of NbS into climate‑change and biodiversity initiatives, supporting the organisation’s regional leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate a programme‑wide NbS approach and develop an organisational NbS strategy with operational pillars.
• Design, execute and manage annual work plans, monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks for NbS activities.
• Provide technical oversight, quality assurance and training for NbS projects, including the Kiwa Initiative and PPIN.
• Lead donor engagement, resource mobilisation and partnership development for NbS services.
• Oversee budget planning, reporting and HR processes for dedicated NbS projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Environment or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of international development and climate‑change experience, with 5 years in complex project management.
• Minimum 2 years of people‑management experience.
• Proven ability to build high‑level regional or international policy networks.

Required skills

• Project management (log‑frames, risk management, budgeting).
• Monitoring and evaluation design and implementation.
• NbS strategy development and technical oversight.
• Training and facilitation of technical content.
• Reporting and stakeholder communication.
