About the role

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Health and Social Affairs and is responsible for ensuring continuous medical care at the Canala medical‑social centre. The doctor will provide curative, preventive, and administrative services to the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curative care: consultations, emergency visits, and tribal outreach.
• Implement preventive programs: school health, maternal‑infant health, TB screening, occupational and sports medicine, health education, and public hygiene.
• Manage administrative duties: personnel and material resources, reporting, and health‑social monitoring.
• Develop external partnerships and oversee the centre’s pharmacy.
• Participate in civil‑security training and support neighboring centres when needed.
• Prepare an annual activity report and be available for on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Qualified in general medicine and emergency care (CAMU preferred).
• Knowledge of public health; additional expertise in gynecology‑obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology or infectiology is a plus.
• Valid category B driver’s licence.
• Experience in isolated settings and working with Oceanian populations is advantageous.
