Médecin généraliste - Centre médico-social d'Ouégoa

About the role

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Health and Social Affairs and is responsible for ensuring continuity of care at the medical‑social centre in Ouégoa. The role combines curative, preventive, administrative and public health duties in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general and emergency medical consultations, urgent care and community visits.
• Implement preventive health programmes: school health, maternal‑child health, tuberculosis screening, occupational and sports medicine, health education and public hygiene.
• Manage administrative tasks including personnel and material resources, reporting and health‑social monitoring.
• Develop external partnerships and oversee the centre’s pharmacy.
• Participate in civil‑security training and support neighbouring centres when needed.
• Prepare an annual activity report and be available for on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Qualified in general medicine and emergency care (CAMU preferred).
• Knowledge of public health; additional expertise in gynecology‑obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology or infectiology is a plus.
• Valid category B driving licence.
• Experience in isolated posts, preferably with Oceanian populations.
• Professional attitude: strong interpersonal skills, initiative, listening ability and teamwork.
