Médecin généraliste – Centre médico‑social de Poum

About the role

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Health and Social Affairs and is responsible for ensuring continuous medical care at the Poum medico‑social centre. The physician will provide both curative and preventive services to the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curative medicine: consultations, emergency care, and tribal visits.
• Implement preventive health programs: school health, maternal‑child health, tuberculosis screening, occupational and sports medicine, health education and public hygiene.
• Manage administrative tasks: personnel and material resources, reporting, and health‑social monitoring.
• Develop external partnerships and oversee the centre’s pharmacy.
• Participate in civil security training and support neighboring centres when needed.
• Prepare an annual activity report and be available for on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Qualified in general medicine and emergency care (CAMU preferred).
• Knowledge of public health; additional expertise in gynecology‑obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology or infectiology is a plus.
• Valid category B driver’s licence.
• Experience in isolated settings and familiarity with Oceanian populations is valued.
• Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, listening ability and teamwork orientation.
