About the role

The Pacific Community (SPC) seeks a Software Developer to design, develop, maintain and support full‑stack fisheries information and database management systems for SPC and its member countries. The role also includes developing mobile applications, data integration workflows and providing technical training to national fisheries staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full‑stack fisheries information and database management systems, including the Tufman2 tuna fisheries database.
  • Design, develop and support mobile applications for tuna fisheries and environmental data collection.
  • Implement data integration, validation and workflow processes to support fisheries and climate science programmes.
  • Provide technical support, training and capacity building to SPC staff, member‑country fisheries personnel and regional partners.

Required profile

  • Specialised degree in IT, computing, science or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in web application and data workflow development using C#, JavaScript and Python.
  • At least 4 years experience administering SQL databases and using Git with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience designing and developing mobile device applications.
  • Strong communication skills in English and ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment.

What we offer

  • Band 10 salary on the SPC 2026 scale: SDR 3,727–4,562 per month (≈ USD 4,994–6,114).
