Assistant Social de Secteur – Koumac

About the role

Reporting to the service manager, the Assistant Social de Secteur will support individuals, families and groups in Koumac to overcome financial, administrative, psychological or educational difficulties, promote well‑being and facilitate participation in social life. The role is polyvalent, covering child protection and general social assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct meetings, home visits and appointments to receive and assess users.
• Provide listening, advice, information and orientation to all‑public audiences.
• Carry out social evaluations requested by magistrates, child welfare services and social action departments.
• Participate in adoption approval procedures, commissions and decision‑making meetings.
• Develop partnerships with institutions, services and associations working in social protection.
• Contribute to social action reflections and promote preventive actions.
• Cover for a colleague in case of absence and supervise interns.
• Prepare annual activity reports and present findings in synthesis meetings.

Required profile

• State diploma of Assistant of Social Services (mandatory).
• Knowledge of local realities and context.
• Professional experience valued.
• Valid category B driving licence.

• Ability to work in partnership and network with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency with office software: Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Professional rigor, ethical conduct, initiative, autonomy and strong organizational skills.
