Chirurgien Dentiste – Kaala Gomen (POUM – DASSPS)

About the role

The position reports to the Head of the Dental Office and the Deputy Director of the Care Pole. The dentist will deliver comprehensive oral health services while supporting the province’s public‑health agenda, including screening, prevention and health promotion programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conservative and restorative treatments, extractions, minor oral surgery, periodontics and prosthetic work.
• Manage and follow up care for target groups (e.g., patients with diabetes, high‑risk oral health).
• Participate in provincial screening and prevention campaigns and collaborate with health and social agencies.
• Maintain, clean and disinfect dental furniture, equipment and instruments; operate autoclave sterilisation.
• Supervise the dental assistant and ensure accurate activity reporting.
• Record, code (CIM‑10) and bill procedures using the provincial software.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and nutrition, motivating them to adopt healthy habits.
• Represent the service at thematic events, school visits and community health days.

Required profile

• State‑recognized degree in dentistry (Doctor of Dental Surgery or equivalent).
• Valid category B driving licence.
• At least one year of experience in public‑health or preventive dentistry (preferred).
• Experience in overseas territories is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with dental radiology software.
• Competence in patient management systems.
• Knowledge of autoclave sterilisation procedures.
• Ability to code and bill procedures using CIM‑10.
