Médecin généraliste – Centre médico-social de Ponérihouen

About the role

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Health and Social Affairs, Prevention and Solidarity and is responsible for ensuring continuity of care at the Ponérihouen medical‑social centre.

Key responsibilities

• Provide curative medicine: consultations, emergency care, and tribal visits.
• Deliver preventive services: school health, maternal‑child health, tuberculosis screening, occupational and sports medicine, health education, and public hygiene.
• Manage administrative tasks: personnel and material resources, reporting, and health‑social monitoring.
• Maintain external partnerships and oversee the centre’s pharmacy.
• Participate in civil security training and support neighboring centres when needed.
• Prepare an annual activity report and be available for on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Qualified in general medicine and emergency care (CAMU preferred).
• Knowledge of public health; additional expertise in gynecology‑obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology or infectiology is a plus.
• Holder of a category B driving licence.
• Experience in isolated settings, preferably with Oceanian populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, listening ability, and teamwork orientation.
