Social Assistant – Sector Pouembout-Poya

About the role

The Social Assistant will work under the supervision of the service manager to support individuals, families, and groups in the Pouembout‑Poya sector. The role focuses on helping beneficiaries overcome financial, administrative, psychological, and educational difficulties while promoting child protection and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face meetings during open sessions, home visits, or scheduled appointments.
• Provide reception, listening, assessment, advice, information, and referral services.
• Carry out social evaluations requested by magistrates, child welfare services, and social action departments.
• Participate in adoption approval procedures, commissions, and synthesis meetings for decision‑making.
• Develop partnerships with institutions, services, and associations working in social protection and child welfare.
• Contribute to social action reflections, promote preventive actions, and support a colleague in case of absence.
• Supervise interns and produce annual activity reports and synthesis meeting summaries.

Required profile

• State diploma in social services (mandatory).
• Knowledge of local realities and preferably prior professional experience.
• Valid B‑category driving licence.
• Professional rigor, ethical conduct, initiative, autonomy, and strong responsiveness to emergencies.
• Team spirit, availability, and strong organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software: Excel, Outlook, Word.
